For those not already aware, BYU men's basketball coach Dave Rose has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He had an emergency surgery in Vegas last week to stop internal bleeding and it was discovered that he has cancer. You can read the story from KSL here. This is very sad news and my thoughts are prayers are with Coach Rose and his family. For some reason I feel very close to Coach Rose. Almost as if I know him. He seems so kind and shows genuine respect and admiration for the fans. Just an all-around good guy. This is very sad news and I desperately wish him the best. It's always sad when someone is diagnosed with cancer, but it hits home when it's someone from the BYU family that is as respected and loved as Coach Rose.
Let your thoughts and prayers be with Coach as he enters the long road ahead. Get well Coach! We're all pulling for you!
UPDATE: Read this encouraging article by Greg Wrubell entitled "A Fighter's Chance." It has a few more details and Wrubell's thoughts on Coach Rose.
